DESCRIPTION:Gold Foundation organises regular social groups for young people on the Autism Spectrum from 13 to 18 years of age. \nOur Youth Groups are held in a relaxed and fun environment\, where young people can be social together\, forge lasting friendships and\, informally\, develop social skills and connect with others their age. \nYouth Groups are operated by skilled facilitators while members also have input on their program for the year. \nYouth Group activities include\, but are not limited to: \n\n\n\nMovie nights;\nVideo games;\nBoard games\nArts & crafts;\n\n\n\n\nThemed nights (e.g. Halloween\, birthday parties\, World Autism Awareness Day… etc.);\nScience night;\nHealth & fitness;\nTable tennis; and\nExcursions & events (may incur separate fees).

DESCRIPTION:The Successful Mind for School\, Work and Life (You Can Do It) program is a 16-session course covering 10 topics designed to prepare young people for their final years in school\, pre-employment and part-time work experiences and for life beyond school. \nThe course has been developed to help young people to become familiar with and continue to develop a mindset for success in a range of contexts including the work force. \nThe course was designed with an eye towards career education. Career development is the ongoing process of helping young people managing their school\, work and life. It involves developing the skills and knowledge that enable young people to plan and make informed decisions about education\, training and career choices \nGold Foundation offers the program for young people aged 15-20.
